Meet our Herd
We currently run a small herd of cattle on our land. We have mostly Charolais cows paired with a Black Angus bull. We find that this cross produces some beautiful and fast growing calves. Our goal is to produce quality animals to butcher or sell to other farms. We allow them to graze our pastures all year round and offer quality hay to them through the winter months. We do treat them to a bag of feed here and there to keep them friendly with us. We do not rush the growing process by throwing large amounts of grain at them. We understand it takes longer to grow out our calves this way, but that is OK with us. We like to raise them the way nature intended them to be: grass eating, lean meat having, healthy animals. Quality minerals are fed to them "free choice" meaning they can have all they want. Should the need to treat an illness arise, we will use antibiotics. It is a rare occasion on our farm and never, ever a consistent part of their life. Since our herd is small we can tell you which cow has had any type of injections, if they have had any at all.
